Fishing For Gil in FFXIV
Fishing in Final Fantasy XIV is one of the easiest and fastest ways to make gil. This game boasts an abundance of high-grade rare fish which sell for a significant sum on the Market Board and some are even needed as supplies or provisioning missions by Grand Companies.
Quick Ventures offer another effective means of earning Gil in Final Fantasy XIV. Players can send their retainers on various quests that can bring immense rewards and earn them some quick gil.
1. Levequests
Levequests are infinitely repeatable side quests with semi-random rewards in exchange for your efforts. They operate differently than other side content such as FATEs and require special currency called Leve Allowances that players earn every 12 real world hours; you can hold up to 100 allowances at the same time.
These quests offer a great way to advance gatherers such as botanists and miners while also helping combat classes advance in their careers. Additionally, they may serve as an excellent alternative to powerleveling the Market Board or running Duty Roulettes.
Onihige fish is the ultimate moneymaker on the Market Board, selling for approximately 5k Gil. Furthermore, this species is required for Grand Company Provisioning Missions which provide massive experience gains as well as powerleveling opportunities for fishers.
2. Fishing
Fishing is one of the few gathering jobs that can help increase their Warrior of Light's coin purse and is also an enjoyable and relaxing way to pass some time in FFXIV.
Fishing may be an easy and straightforward way to make decent amounts of gil in-game, but that doesn't make it the optimal option for everyone. Botanist or Mining may prove more fruitful ways of collecting materials than fishing; which may feel more repetitive and unsatisfying than its alternative options.
Fisher and Culinarian crafting jobs work hand in hand in f14 gil, as many seafood recipes require directly collected ingredients from Fishers. As such, many Fishers end up dumping their bags full of fish on market boards hoping for the best outcome.
3. Plant Cultivation
No matter your class or profession, plant cultivation can be one of the best ways to earn Gil. Though time-consuming, plant cultivation is usually worth your while as its rewards can often far outstrip its investment costs. Plus, depending on the plant and location you can sell harvested items on the Market Board for even further profit!
Gil gardens can be an extremely profitable way to earn gil in Final Fantasy XIV, especially for those who have invested in housing plots. While not a quick way to become rich quickly in-game as they require initial investments of up to 2 million gil per plot, they can serve as long-term investments with substantial returns.
Gil, or gold, is the main currency in Final Fantasy XIV and can be earned through killing monsters, doing guildleves, dungeons, missions and selling items. Furthermore, trading can easily occur via the market board or FC chest.
4. Glamour Gear
Glamour gear can be an easy and lucrative way to earn Gil. Players looking to customize the appearance of their characters often turn to glamour gear as a source of revenue, though high level crafters may need to produce such clothing pieces that will sell for millions once released onto the market.
The game features many small Gil-sinks built into core gameplay that are often overlooked in other MMOs, including things such as teleportation fees and flight costs which can quickly add up over time.
Be mindful that it can be challenging to establish what a suitable Gil amount per hour might be for every server and DC, however the methods above should give an idea of what might be achievable.
5. Duty Roulettes
FFXIV stands out among other MMO titles with its abundant supply of small Gil-sinks built into core gameplay (rather than WoW's gold sinks such as repairs or flights). From dungeons and trials to guildleves, there's always plenty of opportunities for collecting this precious resource.
Leveling Roulette grants a large burst of EXP, but at level cap it is swapped out for Allagan Tomestones and Grand Company Seals instead. Meanwhile, Frontline PvP roulette cycles through all available frontline matches (the current active duty can be found under "Information" section of duty description).
Each time a player queues into a Roulette, they receive bonus experience, gil and sometimes Allagan or Grand Company tomestones. There's also the Adventurer in Need reward: one Cracked Anthocluster and two Cracked Dendroclusters will be given as assistance if their role needs it.
